A former South African domestic cricketer was found guilty of rape.
Dion Taljard, who had represented Border in first class cricket between 1993 and 1999 before relocating to the United Kingdom has been jailed for 18 years, sport24 reports.
According to England’s Daily Mail, the 47-year-old was found guilty of raping an unnamed woman 150 times between 2002 and 2012.
This disturbing article adds that Taljaard repeatedly attacked the woman while she was drunk. He would also grab her around the throat and utter words like "you will comply".
The woman came forward three years after the attacks ended, reportedly attempting to take her own life at one stage.
