A fine all round performance from Robin Peterson helped the Chevrolet Warriors secure a 10-wicket demolition over the Gestetner Diamond Eagles in their Standard Bank Pro20 semifinal second-leg replay at Sahara Oval St George's on Monday.

Left-arm spinner Peterson took three for 24 as the Warriors bowled the Eagles out for 101 in 19 overs before he belted 49 not out off 31 balls to take the Warriors to 103 without loss and secure victory with 47 balls of their innings remaining.

After the Eagles had won the toss and elected to bat Peterson received good support from fast bowler Rusty Theron, who claimed three for 16, and left-arm swing bowler Lonwabo Tsotsobe who picked up two wickets.

Dean Elgar, with 24, was the only Eagles’ batsman to hold up the rampant Warriors’ bowlers with the next best score being 15 from Ryan Bailey.

With the Warriors only needing to score at slightly over five runs to the over at the start of their innings Peterson and Justin Kreusch tore into the hapless Eagles’ bowlers to claim a comfortable win. Kreusch ended unbeaten on 44 off 42 balls and secured victory in some style with a four through the covers.

The two teams will meet at the same venue on Wednesday to determine which side will contest the Standard Bank Pro20 final.
