The Nashua Cape Cobras have completed the signing of left-arm spinner Claude Henderson for the 2008/09 domestic cricket season.

Henderson returns to Cape Town after a stint as a Kolpak player with Leicestershire in England. He has previously played for the Western Cape franchise who signed him from Boland in 1998. While playing in Cape Town he was called to up to the South African national side, playing his first game against Zimbabwe in 2001.

Nashua Cape Cobras coach, Shukri Conrad, was excited about the signing which brings the Western Cape based player back to his origins in cricket.

He said: "A player of Claude’s experience and calibre is a huge asset for the Nashua Cape Cobras and I hope his experience will rub off on some of the young Cobras spinners we are busy grooming. I am excited to see how others will learn from his abilities."

Henderson has a first class career wicket haul of 654 wickets at an average of 31.57 with his best bowling figures of 7 for 57 and has a handy 18.93 average with the bat which includes thirteen fifties.
