Sri Lankan captain Mahela Jayawardene has won the toss and elected to bat first in his team's Cricket World Cup Group B match against Bermuda at the Queen's Park Oval.

Jayawardene's team - who won the 1996 World Cup - are considered by many as serious title contenders and they will be hoping to get their 2007 CWC campaign off to a cracking start against Bermuda, who have heavyweight spinner Dwayne Leverock in their ranks.

2003 - World Cup forfeits benefit Kenya

Due to England and New Zealand's refusing to travel to Zimbabwe and Kenya respectively, both Kenya and Zimbabwe progressed to the Super Sixes stage, with the Kenyans even making the last four - ahead of the likes of South Africa, Pakistan and England.
