Key Moments 1975 - Deryck Murray's innings against Pakistan
![]() More Key Moments
The West Indies met Pakistan at the group stage and needed to win the match to secure a spot in the final four. Pakistan posted a competitive 266, but the Windies were struggling at 99/5, when wicketkeeper Deryck Murray came to the wicket. At 201/9, the favourites were in danger of being eliminated, until fast bowler Andy Roberts joined Murray, who made 61 not out. They added 64 for the last wicket, and eventually reached the target with just two balls to spare. Had the West Indies lost the game, they would not have qualified for the semi-finals.
