The local supporters in the crowd give a special character and atmosphere to the Northern Hills-framed ground, who are sure to keep the spirits high here. The ground is also has the largest capacity of the World Cup venues. Because of its size the West Indies have used it often as a Test and ODI venue in the past. It played host to the Windies' 46 all out demolition of England in 1994/95. It will host a number of group matches.
