We spoke to South African Sevens star Mpho Mzukisi Mbiyozo about his plans for the festive season, his love of Afrikaans music and losing his pants...

The 25-year-old Mbiyozo is a key member of the Springbok squad that won back-to-back tournaments for the first time on the International Rugby Board Sevens World Series, in Dubai and George, in the past fortnight.

Question: What are your plans for December?
Answer: I am going home, to Lusikisiki in the Transkei, to spend time with my family.

Q: What is your favourite Christmas meal?
A: Any home-cooked meal is good. Certainly no hotel pasta for me this Christmas.

Q: Do you prefer TV, radio or a book?
A: No, it's the Ipod, a book and TV... in that order. But the Ipod is top of that list.

Q: Do you prefer a restaurant or a braai?
A: Definitely a braai. I like chops, steak and chicken... always chicken.

Q: Sea or swimming pool?
A: The sea, my favourite beach is Manly, in Sydney, Australia.

Q: What's your favourite music?
A: Hip-hop, rap, R&B and some Afrikaans... yes, Afrikaans.

Q: Who would you most like to meet?
A: It has to be Mr Nelson Mandela, our former President, and hopefully it happens soon.

Q: What is your first rugby memory?
A: My Under-14 season at Kokstad College, we went unbeaten throughout the season.

Q: What was your funniest moment on the rugby field?
A: It was last year in Scotland, when somebody pulled down my pants. I was running to get to a ruck and the crowd went wild. When I pulled up my pants they all booed me...

Q: If you weren't a rugby player, what would you be?
A: A soccer player.
