The Springboks all but wrapped up the Tri-Nations with a 32-25 victory over the Wallabies in Perth; a scoreline that flattered the home side.

The scoreboard says that there was seven points between the teams, but anyone who watched it would know that there was far more separating them. The Boks are a team on fire, and they showed that they could adapt their game to the situation as they see fit.

Boring rugby it certainly wasn't, as the Bok backs – led by du Preez, de Villiers and Habana – made the most of the platform that the forwards laid for them. The Wallabies came on strongly in the closing minutes, but the Boks will go to Brisbane oozing with confidence as they look to secure the Tri-Nations crown with a game to spare.

Tim Human rates the Springbok players…

15 Ruan Pienaar:
Surprisingly wasn't tested under the high ball – which asks questions of the Wallaby tactics. He did all that was required of him in the last line, but the game gave very little indication of his abilities as a No.15. 6.5/10

14 JP Pietersen:
With every game he plays, it becomes more difficult to see why he has so many detractors. He was a giant on defence and did his bit on attack and under the high ball. One poor kick led to Giteau's try though. 7/10

13 Jaque Fourie:
His combination with De Villiers has re-ignited the Bok backline. His direct, take-the-gap ability worked as the perfect foil for his Munster bound colleague. Lovely line to score in the first half.8/10

12 Jean de Villiers:
Searing break in the opening minutes set the tone for a great display from him and the team. He will be sorely missed.9/10

11 Bryan Habana:
What a pleasure it was to see him get some ball for a change. He performed his usual kick-chasing duties superbly, and finally got a chance to show his electrifying pace for a thrilling first half try. Added a second in the second - Rassie must be smiling. 9/10

10 Morne Steyn:
He was solid and kicked most of the goals, but in truth had little influence in any of the tries scored. He knows his role and sticks to it, and leaves most of the playmaking duties to the genius inside him. 7/10

9 Fourie du Preez:
An incredible scrumhalf and flyhalf all rolled into one. The best player in the world without any doubt. 10/10

8 Pierre Spies:
An immense presence off the back of the scrum. He has added some hard graft to his well-documented explosiveness and is becoming a more complete player with each game. 8/10

7 Juan Smith:
Strong in support and a constant menace on defence and around the breakdown. 7/10

6 Heinrich Brussow:
Strong with the ball in hand and always threatening at the rucks. A vital cog in this potent Springbok team. 8/10

5 Victor Matfield:
Wasn't as noticeable as usual and the lineout was less dominant than in previous weeks. Even he can have an off-day… sort of. 7/10

4 Bakkies Botha:
The enforcer hit everything in his way with characteristic brutality. The impact that he makes in the scrums was obvious once he left the field, as John Smit struggled.8/10

3 John Smit:
As tough as it is to admit, Smit did not enjoy one of his best days in the No.3 jersey. He struggled in the scrums all match, and without Bakkies behind him, he was smashed in the last twenty minutes. 6/10

2 Bismarck du Plessis:
The Bok lineout wasn't as superior as expected, but he put in a few of his customary blockbusting bursts.7/10

1 Tendai Mtawarira:
Made a couple of errors around the breakdown, and didn't dominate the set-piece. Strong in the loose. 6/10

Replacements:

16 Chilliboy Ralepelle: (On for du Plessis near the end)

17 Jannie Du Plessis: (On for Smit near the end)

19 Schalk Burger: (On for Smith on 55 minutes.)
Some strong running and industrious around the fringes. Impressive cameo off the bench. 7/10

20 Ricky Januarie: (On for Du Preez near the ned)
Not enough time to be rated

21 Adrian Jacobs: (On for Pietersen on 64 minutes)
Not enough time to be rated
