On the surface it may seem like an easy team to select - just two games and four teams to consider. However, in a number of positions the decisions required some considerable debate.

In the end the Bulls managed to get the best representation with seven members of our weekly selection.

Their opponents in the Final, on Saturday, the Chiefs, have four - while the Crusaders and Hurricanes have managed two each.

Five players are back from last week - wing Bryan Habana (Bulls), scrumhalf Fourie du Preez (Bulls), No.8 Pierre Spies (Bulls), blindside flank Victor Vito (Hurricanes) and lock Victor Matfield (Bulls).

Team of the Week - Semifinals:

15 - Mils Muliaina (Chiefs): Fullback was a tough choice, but Muliaina shaded the others because of his showing in a game that required steely nerves.

14 - Sitiveni Sivivatu (Chiefs): Yes, he may have played with No.11, but his best run was on the right wing and we had to find place for both him and Bryan Habana.

13 - Calum Bruce (Chiefs): It was again a tough choice, as it was a weekend for steady play, rather than being flash, in the midfield.

12 - Ryan Crotty (Crusaders): We felt he handled the Loftus cauldron rather well - considering it was his first Super season and his first major semifinal.

11 - Bryan Habana (Bulls): Simply the best!

10 - Morné Steyn (Bulls): Isn't he just magic? It will be a great shame if he is not rewarded with international selection next month.

9 - Fourie du Preez (Bulls): An absolute master of his trade and without doubt the world's premier No.9.

8 - Pierre Spies (Bulls): He has, once and for all, settled the No.8 debate.

7 - Scott Waldrom (Hurricanes): Another tough choice, with Deon Stegmann making a strong argument. But Waldrom made life decidedly unpleasant for the Chiefs.

6 - Victor Vito (Hurricanes): It is tough to stand out in a losing team, but his work at the breakdown was immense.

5 - Victor Matfield (Bulls): We all know about his line-out ability and improved workrate, but his true leadership qualities are now beginning to shine through.

4 - Brad Thorn (Crusaders): If ever the Crusaders needed somebody to match the Bulls' muscle with brute force, Thorn was the man. He did a fine job, but could have done with some assistance.

3 - Werner Kruger (Bulls): Another tough choice, but Kruger won the vote on the back of his all-round performance, despite his initial troubles in the scrum.

2 - Aled de Malmanche (Chiefs): Without doubt worthy of All Black selection!

1 - Gürthro Steenkamp (Bulls): His game has reached new heights this year - clearly a man on a mission. Demolishing the British and Irish Lions is obviously part of that mission.
