The South African Rugby Union has confirmed what rules apply should teams be deadlocked in the various play-off matches at the weekend - from Under-19 semifinals through to Currie Cup semifinals.

In the event of the scores being level in matches to determine the winner in the First Division Final, Currie Cup semifinals and Final, the following regulations will apply:

Regulation 2.1 - Semifinals:

If scores are level after the scheduled time, the team that will proceed to the finals will be determined as follows:
2.1.1 - the team scoring the most points within a 20 (twenty) minute extra time (10 minutes each way with a one (1) minute break), and if still level
2.1.2 - the team scoring the most tries in the semifinal, including extra time; and if still level
2.1.3 - the team with the highest log position immediately prior to the semifinal match.

Note: Paragraph 2.1.1 will not apply to Under-19 games

2.2 - Finals: If scores are level after the scheduled time, the winner will be determined as follows: 2.2.1 - the team scoring the most points within a (20) twenty minute extra time (10 minutes each way with a one (1) minute break); and if still level 2.2.2 - the team with the highest log position immediately prior to the semifinal matches in that competition during the current season shall be the winner. Note: Paragraph 2.2.2.1 will not apply for Under- 19 games
