South Africa hammered England by 84 runs in the second T20 match at Centurion on Sunday. We rate the Proteas players!
Graeme Smith: The big South African captain continued his fine form with the bat, setting the platform along with opening partner, Loots Bosman, for a massive total. Seemed to score boundaries at will. 8/10
Loots Bosman: Not many batsmen could have outdone Smith on Sunday, but Bosman did. He is definitely giving the SA selectors something to think about. 9/10
Albie Morkel: Scored quickly, but I would have liked to see him at the crease for a lot longer. Considering the platform he was given, he must have been expected to deliver more than he did. 5/10
JP Duminy: Another failure for Duminy with the bat, but he did do some good things on the field to make up for it. 5/10
AB de Villiiers: He did not have much time to bat, but the little that he did have, he used rather nicely. 7/10
Jacques Kallis: Didn?t get much of a chance to bat and was forced to go big from the start. Wasn?t used as a bowler either, making it a largely uneventful match for the big man. He looked very spritely in the field though. 6/10
Heino Kuhn: Had little time to out in the middle, but he looked very good behind the stumps. 7/10
Ryan McLaren: He followed up his debut performance with another solid outing for the Proteas. A very good addition to the Proteas set-up and it is clear to see why he is rated so highly. 7/10
Roelof van der Merwe: Took a good catch and while slightly more expensive than the other bowlers, he proved that he is indeed SA?s leading spinner. 6/10
Dale Steyn: A much-improved performance from South Africa?s leading seamer. With the English batsmen looking to go after everything, Steyn kept his cool and the English in check. 7/10
Yusuf Abdulla: He looked nervous early on, but he brought it back well with some solid work with the ball. 7/10
Got something to say?
