South Korea's Yang Yong-Eun, who beat Tiger Woods at the PGA Championship a week ago to become the first Asian to win a Major, has set up a rematch at the HSBC Champions in Shanghai in November.
The 37-year-old Yang, who first made his mark on the golfing world by beating Woods three years ago, says he is hoping to repeat the feat on the course where his career first took off.
"Winning the tournament set the foundation for bigger things to come. It gave me the courage to achieve bigger goals, like coming to play on the PGA Tour and of course winning the PGA Championship," Yang said in a statement.
"There were so many things that happened, but in the bigger picture it definitely changed my career because it gave the strength that I needed and the confidence and belief that I could achieve bigger things."
Yang, ranked 110th, will join seven of the world's top 10 golfers in Shanghai including Woods, defending champ Sergio Garcia, Phil Mickelson, Paul Casey, Henrik Stenson, Geoff Ogilvy and British Open winner Stewart Cink.
The $7-million HSBC Champions, to be played from 5-8 November, has been upgraded to become Asia's first World Golf Championships event.
