Tim Petrovic and Leif Olson shot six-under-par 66 to grab a share the first-round lead on Thursday at the PGA Turning Stone Resort Championship.
Matt Kuchar, Vaughn Taylor and John Senden are tied in third at five-under 67.
This is the first event of the fall series on the PGA Tour after last week's Tour Championship ended the FedEx Cup playoffs, allowing most of the top players to take time off.
With temperatures cooling the players were bundled in winter caps and warm jackets.
"It was cold. It was raining. We didn't have the trifecta, though," said Petrovic. "The wind was down, which was the only thing that was saving us out there."
The conditions made play difficult forcing officials to suspend play for darkness on Thursday with six golfers still on the course. They will return at early Friday to finish round one.
The fall series is for players to earn their PGA Tour cards for 2010. Petrovic is 80th on the money list and in no danger of losing his privileges, but Olson could be in trouble.
Tour rookie Olson is 214th on the money list needs to put up some strong numbers to get in next year.
