Wales won the Melrose Cup when they beat Argentina 19-12 in the grand Final at the World Cup Sevens in Dubai on Saturday.
It's been a great tournament littered with upsets at every turn, but Wales deserve their title after disposing of the previously undefeated Argentina.
Wales, who had upset New Zealand in the quarterfinals, beat Samoa in the semifinal to reach a Sevens Final for the first time.
Argentina had earlier held off a strong challenge from Kenya in the semifibnal to reach the Final and in the quarterfinals they had disposed of South Africa.

Men:
Bowl quarterfinals:
Trailing 7-0 at the break, Italy opened their account with a converted try to Jaco Erasmus just after the break to level the scores but a long range converted try by one of Hong Kong's best, Keith Robertson, got his side back in front. Robertson then made a try saving tackle at the other end of the field to secure a semi final berth against Ireland while Italy heads home.
Ireland found it tough to break the Arabian Gulf's defensive line early but a try either side of half time gave them a handy 14-0 lead. Marcus Smith hit back for the Gulf with a try in the corner to reduced the margin to seven.Gary Brown put the result beyond doubt for Ireland with a great sideline burst to score his side's third try. They'll now meet the winner of the next match between Hong Kong and Italy.The host nation can be pleased with their Sevens debut, highlighted by a good first half performance against New Zealand and a nail-biting two-point loss to Italy.
Trailing 5-0 at the break Uruguay responded with two quick tries to lead 14-5. Japan hit back with a try to Takashi Suzuki to close the gap to two. Jeronimo Etcheverry scored his second try of the half to secure Uruguay's first ever Rugby World Cup win and a semi final appearance against Zimbabwe.
Two first half tries by Tangai Nemadire gave Zimbabwe the upper hand in their sudden-death match with Georgia. Leading 14-5 at the break Wesley Mbanje extended the lead with a converted try after some adventurous play by the African nation. Jaques Leitao ended Georgia's campaign with another sharp try for Zimbabwe to progress to the semi finals.

Plate quarterfinals:
A comprehensive four tries to one win for Tonga. Outplayed in the first half, Tunisia hit back quickly with a great solo effort from Haithem Chelly carrying a Tonga defender over the line with him. Tunisia picked up their defence in the second half keeping Tonga scoreless but Tonga move through to the semi finals and will play the winner of Australia and the United States.
Jone Naqica scores first for the USA in the half second but Moraghan's second try of the match seals a semi final appearance against Tonga for Michael O'Connor's young side. A late try from Paul Emerick adds respectability to the score for Al Caravelli's men.
Scotland sneak home over a late finishing France, with both side's scoring three tries in a highly entertaining fixture. Roddy Grant's blockbusting second half try gets them on the way to the semi finals, where they will meet the winner of the match between Portugal and Canada.
With the prospect of extra time looming Portugal snatch a last gasp win over Canada with a try to David Mateus. Aderito Esteves also scored for Portugal, who take the last remaining place in the quarter finals with a gritty seven point win. Portugal now take on Scotland for a place in the final.

Cup quarterfinals:
Shock one in the Melrose Cup quarterfinals in match one. Tom Isaacs hacks on after a scrappy bit of play, but dives over onto the ball to give the Welsh the lead. Wales had to battle hard and hold on for the last minute, but they have done it and beaten New Zealand by a single point. Welsh tries from Williams, Pugh and Isaacs. For New Zealand they are out, the Sevens is buzzing now with "Delilah" blasting out!
Samoa have done it, Coach Moors is cart-wheeling. England paused at the vital minute and the Samoan's reacted quicker. The try came from Simaika Mikaele and Samoa move into their first ever Melrose Cup semi final.
We cannot believe how good these matches are, Argentina upset the South Africans with a brilliant second half comeback. Hero for the South American team is Martin Bustos Moyano, with two tries. The crowd is being treated to a superb afternoon of rugby.
The Kenyans are dancing their way to the semi finals, second half tries from Biko Adema, Captain Humphrey Kayange and Collins Injera has given them a historic victory. Coach Benjamin Ayimba predicted six months ago that Kenya would win this Sevens World Cup, the Kenyan contingent are partying and deservedly so.

Bowl semifinals:
The first finalists for the men's Bowl is now known, Zimbabwe deserved that, they controlled the match brilliantly. Tangai Nemadire with two well taken tries to secure their chance to play for the Bowl.
Brian Carney makes the difference for the Irish scoring two tries to make it a comfortable victory. Hong Kong can be proud of their display, they beat Canada earlier and pushed Ireland especially in the first half. The Bowl Final is Zimbabwe vs Ireland.

Plate semifinals:
An attritional battle in the first Plate semifinal, Tonga had it in the bag until the last play of the game. The Aussies snatch a turnover and joint leading try-scorer in the IRB Sevens World Series, Luke Morahan runs in for an Australian victory. That match will have taken it out of the Aussies though as they head towards the Plate final.
A tired second half from both teams, the heat has taken its toll on both sets of players. But the Scottish are safely through to face Australia in the final. Mike Adamson and the influential Andrew Turnbull with the tries in the second half, Pedro Leal scored a consolation try for the Portuguese.

Cup semifinals:
Wales are the first side through to the Cup final with a convincing upset win over Samoa, who couldn't repeat their quarterfinal heroics. Leading 12-5 at the break, Tom Isaacs, who scored the winning try over New Zealand to put the Welsh into the final four, crossed just after half time extending the lead to 12 points . A late try by Samoa's Morgan Salesa closed the margin to five but they were beaten by the clock.

Bow Final:
Zimbabwe are the only African nation to take home some silverware from the Rugby World Cup Sevens with a hard fought three point win. Trailing 12-0 at half time, Ireland's Kyle Tonetti and Kieron Cambpell hit back for the Irish in the second stanza to lead 14-12 but a late try to Jacques Leitao dashed Ireland's hopes.

Plate Final:
Scotland win the Plate final in an entertaining match in which both side's showcased their speed merchants. With both side's scoring three tries, goals proved the difference in the end.An Andrew Turnbull double and a try to Roddy Grant had Scotland leading 21-12, while the Jenkins brothers kept Australia in touch. Damon Murphy's try with a minute to play reduced the margin to four for Australia but it was too little too late.

Cup Final:
Wales win the Melrose Cup final scoring three tries to two over a tiring Argentina. Trailing 7-12 at half time Gonzalo Camacho chases down a cross field kick to score in the corner and level the scores.
Wales' Aled Thomas, one of his side's best throughout the tournamnet breaks through the Argentina defence with a just over a minute to play to break the deadlock with a converted try. Tom Jones' classic Delilah is playing in the background as Wales celebrate an historic win.
It was a confident start by Wales in front of a boisterous crowd, with Richie Pugh crossing inside two minutes. Argentina's Martin Rodriguez pounced on a Wales mistake racing 50 metres for a converted try and a two point lead. Tal Selley continued his great tournament reclaiming the lead for the Welsh with a smart individual try. Santiago Gomez Cora is denied a try on half time after knocking on over the line chasing his own kick through.
