Former Bafana Bafana striker Sibusiso Zuma was amongst the five players that were released by big spending Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday in what seems like a clean up ahead of the upcoming season.

In a brief statement to the media, Sundowns said that based on the recommendations of the technical committee led by Trott Moloto and Ted Dumitru, Mamelodi Sundowns has decided that Sibusiso Zuma, Collins Mbesuma, Jorge Acuna, Lungisani Ndlela and Shere Lekgothoane will not be part of the club during the 2009/10 season.

Sundowns expressed their gratitude to the players for the commitment shown while they were contracted to the club.
