Golden Lions coach Hans Coetzee has made four changes to his team for their Currie Cup crunch match against the Sharks in Durban on Saturday.
Earl Rose is back for Alwyn Hollenbach at fullback and Michael Killian makes a return to action, taking over from Dusty Noble on the wing, in the backline changes.
Jannie Boshoff and Doppies la Grange continue their impressive centre partnership, while Herkie Kruger (No.10) and Chris Jonck (No.9) remain the halfback pairing.
Up front Franco van der Merwe will have a new lock partner in Nico Luus, with Willem Stoltz picked on the bench, while Kevin Buys is the only other change - taking over at tighthead prop from Gert Muller.
Willem Alberts, Derick Minnie and Cobus Grobbelaar present a highly effective loose trio - strong on the ground and renowned for their ball-carrying ability, especially the No.8, Alberts, who will be looking to give his side impetus on attack.
The squad has suffered many injuries with first-choice scrumhalf Jano Vermaak out for the four months, while Alwyn Hollenbach and Dusty Noble have also been ruled out of this week's game.
It is a totally different, but equally important challenge that awaits the Lions in Durban in their penultimate match of the pool stages.
Last week's massive 88-15 victory over the Boland Cavaliers showed just how devastating they can be on attack, but they know that the Sharks' defensive lines might not be quite so accommodating.
The opposition attack will also show a lot more bite, especially with the inclusion of a number of their returning Springboks.
