Springbok and Western Province flank Schalk Burger has extended his Western Province contract for another two years.
Burger has been struggling with a calf injury and he will also miss Saturday's series-opening Test against the British & Irish Lions in Durban.
However, the Boks stalwart is pleased to re-sign with his beloved Western Province and Stormers until the end of 2011.
"The Cape is my home, and I am passionate about Province and the Stormers and am very pleased to be contracted to play for a further two years," Burger said in a statement.
"I believe there is something exciting happening under the current coaching staff and am looking forward to the next two years of rugby in the Cape," he added.
