Boland Cavaliers assistant coach Louis Koen says their inability to stamp their authority at crucial times maintaining intensity for the full eighty minutes remain two of their main problems.

Boland were comprehensively beaten 8-59 by the Cheetahs at the weekend and Koen stressed that a lack of composure and a shortage of experience may also be a problem as they continue their horror run in this year's Currie Cup.

"We were often in the Cheetahs' territory but we struggled in the scrums and line-outs. You can't afford that," Koen told Volksblad.

He also said that it was important for the side to concentrate on what they do well.

"We did attack well sometimes and we managed to put up some phases."

Another problem area appears to be Boland's discipline as referee Pro Legoete issued two yellow cards. However, Koen said Legoete was not consistent and he is still baffled by the decision.

"The Cheetahs conceded five penalties in succession but they did not get a yellow card. We made three mistakes and then we get a yellow card and we don't even know why."

Boland will face the Leopards in a bottom-of-the table clash this weekend. The Wellington-outfit beat the Leopards in the corresponding fixture in the first half of the tournament and they will be desperate to for a win to avoid the relegation zone.
