With uncertainty over the fitness of wings Tonderai Chavhanga and Sireli Naqelevuki hovering like a dark cloud, Western Province coach Allister Coetzee also has to decide what role star Springbok flank Schalk Burger will play in the Currie Cup semifinal encounter with the Blue Bulls on Saturday.

Burger trained without discomfort on Monday, as WP stepped up preparations for the big north-south derby at Newlands, but there is no guarantee that he will be in the starting XV.

The Province coach, Coetzee, admitted on Monday that the position of Burger is a big poser.

He can retain the in-form loose trio of Francois Louw, Duane Vermeulen and Luke Watson, and play Burger off the bench.

However, he may well opt to start with Burger to counter the physical presence of Springboks like Pierre Spies, Danie Rossouw, Bakkies Botha and Victor Matfield - players who weren't in the Bulls team when the two provinces met during the league stages of the competition.

Loose forward is not Coetzee's only headache this week, although the return of star tighthead Brok Harris ? who has recovered from his eye injury ? will ease some of the front row problems.

The situation with his injured wings, Chavhanga and Naqelevuki, remains very uncertain.

Chavhanga, a late withdrawal from last week's loss to the Lions because of ongoing should problems, trained on Monday. However, he remains on the doubtful list.

Naqelevuki, who injured his ankle against the Lions, was unable to take part in Monday's session.

Other selection posers this week revolve around the halfback positions.

There is Peter Grant or Matt Toomua at flyhalf and Dewaldt Duvenage or Ricky Januarie at scrumhalf.

Meanwhile, officials revealed that the 'house full' signs may well go up for the semifinal at Newlands.

WP Rugby (Pty) Ltd Managing Director Rob Wagner said there was and "exceptional demand" for tickets from around the country when they went on sale on Monday.

"National demand far exceeded anything we have experienced for any past sell-out Super 14 or Test Match," Wagner said.

"As of 16.30 today [Monday, October 12] 6000 seated and 3000 standing tickets remained available for sale and given demand we expect a sell out."

Newlands is a 48 000 seater stadium.

Season tickets are valid for the game - WP has approximately 12 000 season ticket holders and 2500 scholar season ticket members.

In addition the stadium has 315 fully subscribed corporate suites.
