Western Province coach Allister Coetzee says they won't deviate too much from what has worked for them this season, when they face the Blue Bulls in Saturday's Currie Cup semifinal at Newlands.

Province head into this weekend's play-off match on the back of a disappointing loss to the Golden Lions in Johannesburg.

The Bulls have a superior record in play-off matches and 2009 has also been a highly successful year for the Pretoria outfit with the Super 14 trophy already in the cabinet at Loftus Versfeld.

While the bulk of Coetzee's young WP team haven't been exposed to big games, Coetzee stressed that the magnitude of the occasion won't cull their enthusiasm.

"Our players understand the systems and everybody has bought into it - which has been one of our major strengths this year," Coetzee told iafrica.com.

"Once you are under pressure you do what you know best. We have progressed since the last two times we played them and we need to make sure we progress again this weekend.

The Bulls, who last failed to reach the play-offs in 2001, are well aware that Province have not advanced past the semifinals since 2001 - when they beat the Sharks in the Final.

The Bulls also boast a number of Springboks who recently tasted success in the Tri-Nations and their experience of the big occasion will most definitely be a factor this weekend.

Coetzee has highlighted the importance of his players settling into his systems and structure and he feels that not having many Boks in the squad is an advantage heading into the play-offs.

"I think we saw with the Sharks and the Bulls when their Springboks first returned from the Tri-Nations they appeared to struggle a bit reabsorbing them back into their systems so I do think that having players who are comfortable in the system and fit easily into it is important," said Coetzee.

He also knows what to expect from the men from Pretoria.

"You don't get a bigger physical challenge than playing the Bulls. They've got an aggressive attacking-kicking game and we have to handle that and they also have a fantastic line-out," he said.

"The most important thing in a play-off is to take the opportunities and your discipline needs to be right as well.

The only injury concerns in the WP camp are wing Sereli Naqelevuki, who is still nursing an ankle injury while Tonderai Chavangha is also doubtful due to a shoulder problem. However, Coetzee is confident that he will at least have one of the two's services for Saturday.

"The decision on their inclusion will be made on Tuesday," said Coetzee. "One of the two will make it, but if it?s not a risk, we'll certainly strap them up for this big match."

The good news is that Bok flank Schalk Burger will be available for selection but it is still unclear whether he will feature in the starting side.

"Schalk has been running freely and is ready to play but whether he will start or not is a decision I'll have to sleep on.

"I also have to consider the form of the current loose forward combination. They have played very well this season, it?s a very well balanced loose trio."
