Discarded Wallaby Lote Tuqiri is set to make his Leicester Tigers debut against the Springboks on Friday, after being named amongst the replacements for the historic Welford Road clash.

The new signing is included in the 22 after the Australia international wing arrived earlier this week and hooker George Chuter is also named among the replacements.

New Zealand international Aaron Mauger will lead the Tigers against the Tri-Nations champions, shifting a position inwards from his usual inside centre spot to take over the playmaking duties from regular No.10 Jeremy Staunton, who is being rested.

Head coach Richard Cockerill has taken the opportunity to rest both Staunton and Anthony Allen, who have started all nine games in league and cup so far this season.

Academy prospects Andy Forsyth and Manu Tuilagi combine as the centre partnership, and Ben Youngs starts at scrumhalf for the fixture arranged to officially open the new Caterpillar Stand.

The forward pack features the eight who started last Saturday's Guinness Premiership win over Northampton Saints, including young lock Calum Green who made his first senior start in that game.

Richard Blaze, Harry Ellis, Toby Flood, Geordan Murphy, Billy Twelvetrees, Sam Vesty and Ben Woods are ruled out by injury.
