Both Jomo Cosmos and Moroka Swallows will be looking to bounce back from defeats in their last Absa Premiership match when they face off against one another in the league at the Rand Stadium on Saturday evening (kick-off 8.15pm).

Cosmos suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Ajax Cape Town and the 'Birds' also went down 1-0 to Mamelodi Sundowns. Both teams produced dismal first half performances and then improved immensely in the second half, but it was too little, too late for both.

Presently, seven places and eight points separate the two clubs on the league table. Cosmos are at the bottom of the pile in 16th place with only nine points from their 14 games. Swallows, on the other hand, are in ninth place on 17 points.

Against the Birds, Cosmos will be hoping to keep it tight at the back but that is very unlikely considering they have the worst defensive record in the league this season. In 14 games Jomo Sono's side have already conceded 25 goals and have a miserable goal difference of -13.

These two teams have quite an extensive history, having played in 44 official league games against one another since 1985. Of those matches Cosmos have had the better results, winning 17 times to Swallows' 12 victories.

The last time the two faced off against one another was two years ago in the 2007/08 PSL season. Cosmos were able to grab a total of four points off the Soweto side that season, winning 3-1 away and drawing 0-0 at home.
