Despite lifting the Currie Cup again, the Bulls do not dominate our 'Team of the Tournament'.
Ajax to turn on the heat
Article By:
Ajax Cape Town will look to keep up the pressure on Absa Premiership leaders SuperSport United when they travel to the Puma Rugby Stadium to take on Mpumalanga Black Aces on Sunday afternoon (kick-off 3.30pm).
Ajax have been in fine form of late, winning three of their last four matches. The Cape side defeated Jomo Cosmos 1-0 in midweek.
The victory saw the 'Urban Warriors' move up to second on the standings and they are now just two points behind leaders SuperSport, who could only draw 1-1 at home to Platinum Stars.
Ajax have not really been unsettled by the departure of coach Muhsin Ertugral and stand-in Jan Pruijn has done an excellent job in laying a solid platform for new man Foppe de Haan.
Black Aces have struggled somewhat to adapt to life in the top flight. They are placed 14th on the log on 13 points, though they are ahead of AmaZulu and Jomo Cosmos by one and four points respectively.
'AmaZayoni' threw away two points in
midweek, drawing 3-3 with Kaizer Chiefs after leading 3-1 at half-time.
Aces have lost just once at home this season and they will hope to maintain that record when they host the 'Urban Warriors'.
Ajax and Black Aces have never met before in top flight football, so there is no history between the teams to indicate which way this encounter may go.
