Kathryn Meaklim is on top of the world after setting a new world record in the 400 metres individual medley with a time of 4:22.88 at the final leg of the FINA/Arena Swimming World Cup in Singapore on Sunday. Meaklim was 2.18 sec faster than the previous record held by Mireia Belmonte of Spain.

Meaklim collected another gold medal in the 200 metres breaststroke (4:22.88) with Ronwyn Roper ending fifth (2:27.34).

Cameron van der Burgh ended the series on a very high note as he took the grand prize of US$100 000 for the second year in a row with Roland Schoeman claiming the second prize of US$50 000.

In the 100 metres breaststroke, Van der Burgh won gold in 56.25, while Neil Versfeld claimed the silver (56.74). Schoeman won a silver medal in the 50 metres freestyle with a time of 20.89, while Wesley Gilchrist finished seventh (22.37).

Darian Townsend continued to show fine form by achieving gold in the 200 metres individual medley (1:52.49), while Jay-Cee Thomson collected bronze in a time of 1:56.86 and Wesley Gilchrist ended fifth (1:59.47). Townsend made his second trip to the podium with another gold in the 200 metres freestyle (1:41.65), with Jay-Cee Thomson finishing sixth (1:46.04).

Garth Tune took silver in the 100 metres butterfly with a time of 50.36.

Mandy Loots set an African record time of 2:04.24 and finished with the silver medal in the 200 metres butterfly.

In the 1500 metres freestyle, Terence Parkin ended fourth with a deaf world record-breaking time of 15:31.55, the previous record was held by Alexander Weinhagen from Sweden (16:21.38) set in 2007.

In the 50 metres breaststroke, Ronwyn Roper finished fifth in 31.74. In the 100 metres backstroke, Jessica Ashley-Cooper ended sixth (1:00.02), while Sarah Ferguson finished seventh in the 100 metres individual medley (1:08.64).
