The South Africa?s Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee has called for its own inquiry into Athletics South Africa?s handling of the Caster Semenya controversy.
ASA boss Leonard Chuene admitted he lied about whether the 18-year-old athlete underwent gender testing.
He said he did so to protect her.
Letters were sent to ASA lawyers notifying them of the probe.
They have called on those responsible to stand before the inquiry from 9 to 11 October.
Officials will be questioned about the role they played in the matter.
ASA could be suspended if there is enough evidence showing it brought sport into disrepute.
