South African paralympic star Oscar Pistorius appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Tuesday night.

Pitsorius, who competed in both the able-bodied Olympic Games and the Paralympics earlier this year, has become the face of SA athletics after a big year of competition.

On Tuesday, a relaxed Pistorius chatted to Leno about playing golf with US Olympic star Michael Phelps.

He joined actor Tyler Perry on Leno's show and both men were quick to express admiration for each other on Twitter afterwards.

"Was great meeting @tylerperry on the @JayLenoTonight Show! What a down to earth and friendly guy!" wrote Pistorius.

"At LENO now, I finally met my hero Oscar Pistorius, WOW! Talk about a kind and gifted soul!" wrote Perry, who will no doubt be following the SA star after meeting him.

He is also set to appear on Piers Morgan's CNN show on Wednesday.

Pistorius is the second South African to appear on the show this year after comedian Trevor Noah made an appearance in January.
