Zola Budd confirmed that she will run the 2014 Comrades ultramarathon.
Budd said that she will run it in the colours of the newly-formed Hooters Running Club. The new club is based in Umhlanga.
Budd made her Comrades debut in 2012 and finished in a time of 8 hours 5 minutes. She pulled out of the 2013 up-run due to illness.
"There was a lot of pressure for me to break 7 hours 30 minutes to earn a silver medal, but I'm glad I took Bruce Fordyce's advice and ran a conservative race," she said in a Sapa report.
"It was very tough and I said I would never ever do it again. But here I am excited to run again."
The former cross-country star said that she will run the Two Oceans ultramarathon in April as preparation for the Comrades.
