document.write("I've read both arguments in this debate and must admit that both are quite compelling, however, it's a debate that we should not have to have. We have seen sports men and women leave our shores far too often for various reasons - as a country we should not have given them a single reason in the first place.. Trevor Webster");

document.write("Take the racialism out of this because its a favourite of SA people, Kp results talk for themselves, would he make any team in the world?, he would walk into the Australian team, would he make the SA team? He'd be the first person on my list. AS Doc Craven would say \"check the score board \" you don't get the averages he's got by being a so so player, hes the best player in the world in his position at the moment, Whoever thinks he is no loss to SA, should go learn something about the game called Cricket!!!. andrew");
document.write("KP
");
document.write("Honestly there is not place for him in the national team.Well maybe in place of Paul Harris,Seriously why is he in the team?!?!?! Anyway this is not about Paul Harris...
KP is good i give him that but i have to agree with the second person, Cricket is a team game and KP does not look like a team player. I can assure you that the last century will be his last 100 for some time. He got lucky to be there in the first place because Steyn fumbled the run out opputunity if i recall.

document.write("KP is a LOSS!!
");
document.write("The 2nd argument is not compelling at all...anyone who believes that SA cricket is better off without KP only needs to look as far as the stats...although cricket is a team sport, KP would potenially be the difference between beating Aus or not.. Stewart");

document.write("KP's performances speak for themselves. He IS a GREAT cricketer. FULL STOP. That South Africans boo rather than cheer him is just plain silly. He should be one of our favourite sons. Instead we regard him as a traitor because we did not want him. Huh?. peter");
document.write("KP

document.write("Seriously, do any of you who have posted comments here actually follow the local SA domestic scene? I know I do. If you did, perhaps you would know that KP was being kept out of the Natal starting lineup because he was average. Average batsman, average spinner. He was too lazy and arrogant to jack himself up down here and needed a kick up the backside by Rice (I might be wrong about the coach though) before he became the talented batsman he is today. Seriously people. Do your research before you post stupid comments.. Kurt");
document.write("KP
");
document.write("To suggest that KP was not good enough to get into the Natal side because he was an average batsman and average spinner surely asks questions of the coaching staff there. If he needs to come to England to develop his game, hone his skills and become the batsman he is today, then I'm afraid it says more about the SA coaches inability to recognise such a talent than it does about Pietersen's ability at that stage in his career.
KP would be a tremendous addition to any side in the world, his attitutde in terms of work ethic certainly cannot be questioned. To become as good a player as KP you need to put hours and hours of meticulous practice and hard work, something KP is very well known for. . Paul, England");
document.write("KP
");
document.write("KP couldn't get into the Natal side because he was a remarkably ordinary off-spinner that could bat a bit down the order. It was indeed Rice that got him to join Nots, as he was coach there at the time i believe and obviously spotted his talents. It was there that KP started to focus on his batting more. James CT");
document.write("KP
");
document.write("He was coward enough to leave South Africa for England because he knew South Africa has more depth than England. As one person indicated, he was not kept out of the Natal team by the quota system, but many other reasons that are reminiscent of a true sport man. He wasnt kept out of the National team by the quota system, because honestly, the pool of the team is still whites. The thing is, white players need to stay and justify merit compared to the quota system, because come what may, home is home, so you should fight to have a say because, even if you find a citizenship in the best country on earth, home is home, and if its cricket, let the bat and ball do the talking.. Lawrence");
document.write("KP
");
document.write("So, yeah, i dont think we need him, because even without him, we are doing just fine. Its team work, and we have that. Show me one player who is not there on merit but the quota system. Makhaya is merit. I find it hard to sympathize with a person who leaves because of the transformation, because this country is your home, and if you know your rights, you know nobody is allowed to silence your voice, so you need to stand for your rights. Why start wandering around the world while you have a home. All we need is seat down round the table and talk as South Africans not blacks and whites, period.. Lawrence");
document.write("KP A loss to SA ??
");
document.write("Once again I believe Rob has got it right.
The rationale and logic in his argument just totally outweighs all the \"showbiz nonsense metaphors\" used by his opposing editor.
Yes indeed KP is a marvellous talent and it`s a little gut wrenching to watch him score at will when he is on form, but as Rob says, this is a team sport and a team culture is necesary. KP is indeed a one man show of star quality, but teams win this game noit individuals. So its no, I dont think we need him back home.. Charles Armstrong ");
