Stop your whining

Emo
"); document.write("And you call us emotional? Dry them Rob. We want our cricketers to be fit, sober and playing their best. We want our rugby players to be coached well and performing their best because we know that with our talent that means WINNING. Each match, every time. I personally don't see that as unreasonable at all. Blah Blah fixture fatigue - then go get a day day job. Ask Tiger, Roger or the Australian cricket team the past decade (bar this year). Thats their attitude and so is it ours. I think it was Plato or maybe Aristotle who proved philisophically - \"if you're not first you're last\". Done. . SAloveofthegame"); document.write("
stop your whining
"); document.write("Rob Peters' comments are valid, but there is a big change in sport these days. It is no longer about playing a gentlemans game where the \"spirit\" of the game was paramount; it is now about winning. And its big money! Sportmen (and coaches)are earning a fortune so they must produce the goods or be dropped. If we can whinge about big money-earning, beetroot-eating cabinet Ministers, then big money-earning sportsmen are fair game.. Peter Breeze"); document.write("
Whining
"); document.write("Well Rob u are right...Alot of S.A sporting fans (mostly rugby fans) are extremely over critical. But the main reason for that is, well we expect to be the best everyday everytime. Society is pretty diverse and you'll always get peopple who blah blah about every little thing there is without actually weighing and analyzing the bigger picture. BUT having said that there is weight to the argument that the springboks arent playing aswell as they can, and even u must admit this.. Braam"); document.write("
Stop your whining!
"); document.write("From a foreign perspective, I think that the whinging mentality can be appropriated to any country with a passion for their sports. This is especially the case when there is a culture of winning, because the team has to keep on winning to appease the fickle masses.
As an All Black fan, you get used to the team peaking outside world cup years, so a world cup victory seems rather elusive for New Zealand. However, I think NZ has matured as a country in that we have begun to realize that the All Blacks have become defined as a great team without a world cup victory. Doesn't stop us whinging when we lose, it just means that we see a loss as a snapshot in time, and that we know our team are likely to recover quickly. . Sherilyn Miller"); document.write("
Graeme Smith?

De Villiers and the Springboks
"); document.write("De Villiers has an extremely difficult job as he has to select the best side on current form and also please the Transformation Brigade. On paper at the moment only 2 players of colour should be selected. But then the powers that be will be very cross and force quotas on him, then he will be forced to select players that are not good enough. Rather for now select the 4 or 5 or 6 players of colour that are good enough to play for the country even if there better white players available. Remember we live in an abnormal society and this will remain so for some time still.. RO TALB"); document.write("
Awesome article
"); document.write("Really drove home the fact that many South Africans don't see the good and bad and weigh them equally. One can't be able to perform well at every game, it's a fact. It's not as if we are playing a static team in rugby, tactics evolve, players learn, it isn't a videogame. . random oke"); document.write("
