There are far too many cracks in our team that the Australians will be targeting by applying intense pressure. The first test will be crucial for us.. Gary ");

document.write("i think the biggest concern is actuially our openers. graham smith is a ten or century guy and puts a lot of pressure when he doesn't perform. Neil mckenzie is the most overrated cricketer in sa and is more a poster boy than opening batsmen. kallis is key. the aussies know how to break him and he has not had a good tour to aus yet, it is time for him to make up.. brendan");

document.write("It is comments like yours that infuriates me particularly. Firstly, you obviously have no idea what you are talking about not knowing how to spell the captain's name correctly. Any credibility just about went out the window there. A typo is forgivable but it's GRAEME (not Graham) actually. Secondly, get your facts straight. Everybody knows McKenzie isn't an opening batsman. Previously he batted 5 or 6 for the Proteas and has batted at 4 just about his whole career locally. He got a shot at opening the batting because that was the only position in the team available - where he has done far better than expected, scoring more than a 1000 runs in the year at an average of 59 . Not half bad. Thirdly, Kallis averages about 46 in Australia (less than his career average but still pretty good). Since 2000 he has been our MOST prolific batsman there. . JamesCT");

document.write("Very good article Eric, a lot of thought and vision. I think you are 100% correct, the one area that we are going to be exposed in, could be our bowling. In the batting department, we have a solid and experienced top 7, but nothing beyond that, so if LEE, Johnson and Siddle break up a few in the top order, we are going to be left very exposed. I dont want to sound negative here, but lets not start crowing (as we did in the last tour there) and just concentrate hard on the basics and aplication. As Eric has rightfully said, Dale and Morne have to stop bowling wayward deliveries, the Aussies will capitalise on this and dent us badly. Iam really hoping that Mkyha Ntini will 'engage' that extra level (perhaps do damage to the left handers , Hayden, katich and Hussey at the top, by bowling around the wicket) as he certainly has lost the fire-power that he had, so this could be his series, and as the senior, most experienced of the quicks, it will rest on his shoulders to show the way here. If one of the 'babes' falter and is punished badly, we need someone to stand up and be counted. Number 8, is going to be a vital batting position for SA, and with Pollock now not there, there is no one really that has laid claim to that. It could come back to shoot us in the foot. I am hoping we can win, but as Eric says, thats rather due to them being weaker, than us having improved by leaps and bounds (dont forget the last teat at the Oval in England against KP's invigorated side. This will be the true test for us, lets grab it and lets hope we apply ourselves well, then the cricket will flow. Its going to be tough,and too close to call,but without even wanting to say it, Australia on home ground are potent, and with their supporters behind them, an incredible force to battle with. Good Luck proteas, go for it!!!! . jollifier");
