I agree...to a degree

document.write("Its also frustrating, there are guys that are just 'about there' but don't seem able to take that final step, and so they meander and cause huge frustration to supporters as you never know 'is the real ? gonna show up'? there's no consistency at all, which is weird cos in the tests there was great consistency...but with gibbs, albie, etc you just dont know (you hope and pray like hell though...) but yes, maybe one or two of them can and will take that final 'step' to greatness, and hopefully (I pray) it starts tomorrow.... document.write("Great column once again Eric, I particularly like the Director of Cricket idea - as long as such a person has a clear definition of exactly what his role is it could actually work. Perhaps the idea should be proposed to CSA.... JamesCT");

document.write("I maintain the Proteas woes lie on Mickey Arthurs doorstep. We have quality players that have made him look good. But the youngsters aren't getting the coaching support needed to help them cross the rift between first class and international cricket. The proteas inability to get rid of tail enders is just one pointer at a poor coach. Our bowlers seem directionless at times again the coach is not doing his job. And why has South African fielding dropped in standards again guess who? I dislike it when a player gets rewards for other people carrying him. I dispise it when it is the coach.. brendan");

document.write("pretty easy isnt it.. we live in the past! players like Gibbs wonderfull career average.. but hasnt performed in over a year! lets bring someone to play in the ODIs against the worlds strongest cricket team IN AUSTRALIA thats recently been in rehab and hasnt been playing domestic cricket in months. Mckenzie another off-form player..how much longer do we give someone to find their form? Van Jaarsveld..no comment ! Parnell, well not ready for the big leagues..definately made his conribution to us losing the previous t20 with that schocking last over thumping..give somebody else a chance.. lotsa tallent in SA ! whys Davids not been taken over btw??. ");
document.write("The balance of the team is all wrong. They need people like Ryan McLaren to fill Polly's shoes - all-rounders need to be able to bat AND bowl, not just one or the other. Some of our selections are becoming a bit 'English' - i.e. Mark Ealham, Dom Cork, etc. Not good enough to bat and bowl, but half-decent at each. Sasha");

document.write("Sasha, Brendan couldn't agree more.
Paul S, i agree with most of your comment but would like to point out a few things to you.
Firstly, Mckenzie is ussually a consistant batsman. His current return of 71 runs at an ave of 35,5 is good and shows this consistancy.
Secondly, Wayne Parnell is a youngster that has been rushed into the team. He's still got a lot to learn and he should be learning it at first class level and on A team tours.
Thirdly, the balance of the team needs to be looked at. If Mckenzie continues to play perhaps he needs to bat at four.
Series against Aus nicely on a knife edge. I continue to back our team and hope Arthur has the guts to admit that the players are their own coaches.. corniel");
