McGeechan is the typical pom, loudmouth and utterly unable to accept defeat. Hey you sh#ts, you dont rule the world any longer, you are just a small mud island with unwashed people off the coast of Europe and, worth nothing and are only good to be labourers, but cant even manage that, the dole is much more to your likening. Spot on
"); document.write("If \"Lions\" like Mike Phillips and Andrew Sheridan (and a few others) had spent more time thinking about the game, and less time opening their gobs trying to ruffle a few feathers, they may have actually won the match.
It's typical of the general defeatist mindset of people in the UK. It's always everyone else's fault except their own. Schalk Burger aside they don;t have a leg to stand on.
Frankly, they should just shut up, go to Ellis Park and lose the last test, and then ###### off back to the UK. Even the bloody Aussies are more gracious than this lot.
Oh... and prepared to be klapped on our end of season tour... again!. Mart"); document.write("

"); document.write("What a shoddy and provocvative bit of bad writing. I haven't heard of any Lion, or their team management, say anything other than it was a damned hard match which they could, maybe should, have won - hardly the stuff to inspire Peters to vomit bile, especially given Burger's stupidity and Bakkies' roughhouse tactics. Like it or not what they did defines our victory. Get these thugs out of our game and perhaps we'll get the unqualified support abroad the other players earned in spades with their grit, tenacity and skill. . BOK FAN"); document.write("

A bit of both
"); document.write("I must agree that there has not been much whining from the Lions management but maybe from some of the players. In the end, the scoreboard says 2-0 to SA but in reality SA was very lucky.

Take away the scrum problems the Lions had in Durban and they would have won. And if they would not have lost both their Props in 2 minutes at Loftus, they would also have won.

What I find very interesting as well is that the Lions have twice been blown (one which cost them 3 points) for doing exactly the same move as SA - which in out case lead to Habana's try on Saturday. Consistency of refereeing is a major problem in Rugby, not only in a match but more so between various referees.

Burger's ban is a blessing, Brussow should be playing every minute of every match and so should Morne Steyn. I hope that Div gets banned as well for his racist comments. Maybe then we will get proper team selection.. TK"); document.write("

Whiners vs Foul Players
"); document.write("Although the score settles it once and for all, the more attractive rugby from set pieces did come from the Lions in both games. The brilliant line breaks orchestrated by the experienced trio of Du Preez, Habana and Pietersen apart, the Boks on attack looked less than sharp. As South African rugby fans we must accept that Matfield, Du Plessis, Burger and Botha are to a man a disgrace to this supposedly proud rugby nation. They may be athletic with great strength but so are half the bouncers in Gauteng nightclubs. Their constant pushing and shoving, cheap shots and pathetic attempts at intimidation of any team not just the Lions just serve to impress the primary school bullies who find them so inspirational. Put Bakkies and Sheridan together in a pub brawl and see who gets his lights wacked out. Pity Bakkies had the ref and the world watching. Our players should execute their skills in a more sportsmanlike manner. Take a lesson from Fourie Du Preez & Brussouw rugby efficiency and professionalism personified. Our Boks richly deserve the title of the filthiest players in world rugby. Thanks Bakkies, Bismarck Matfield and Schalk you guys did it for us! Bakkies is a great, and his clean out was no different from Simon Shaws. Youre right on Burger - perhaps a season in the sin bin may be more appropriate for eye gouging. You guys even get offensive when you win and to make childish comments about the UK and its' people is probably not looking close enough to home first before you make them! The British press are nothing to do with the rugby fans. The Lions fans have been great in SA and gracious losers. The Boks base their rugby on barely controlled violence, simple fact. The Lions tried to match it and did a good job and without the injuries would be 1-1. But gouging is gouging. Sorry PdV.. Lion Marshall"); document.write("
Lions
"); document.write("The British Lions certainly are sore losers. Their dismissing the Springboks' wins as nothing but luck is totally unsportsman-like and shameful.

Before they set off for South Africa, their team management and the British media were banging on and on about their \"invincibles\" and the historic wins from years past and how this current team were going to match and front up against the physical side of the Springboks play with their own. Only when they found out literally how much harder and better the current Springboks were, they went crying foul all over the place.

Yes, we all know what an idiot Burger is (and nobody condones what he did except PdeVilliers who is an imbecile) and he deserves whatever length of ban he gets. Bur from the way their management and the media reacted, it was as though he had committed murder and claiming this sort of thing is a particularly a \"Southern Hemisphere thing\" conveniently forgetting that far more players in the Northern Hemisphere have been cited and banned for eye gauging.

They need to know that moaning about lack of respect is useless. You want respect, you have to give respect where it's due as well.. MTM"); document.write("

Whatever anyone says about the Lions management or the British media no one can deny that the Lions played with immense pride and skill in both games. Why you guys are trying to sour a great sporting event is beyond me. Could it be because Bok pride has been hurt because they and their fans so confidently and arrogantly predicted they would \"smash\" the Lions whereas they just about s####ed a win in both games?
The politics of the game and the continuation of the Lions tours means that McGeechan has to talk up the performances somewhat, because a lot of people are calling for the end of Lions tours. This tour has been a great example of why that would be such a shame.. Lion L Blair"); document.write("
Lions
"); document.write("Lion L Blair .... so you think they just about #####ed a win in both games?

Let's see .... 1st test the Bok coach took off 6 main players to experiment with subs with 20 minutes to play, so the Lions were able to come back into the game .... Boks still hold them off for a win.

Second game the Lions were way ahead but the Boks were able to come back last 20 minutes and win.

It's called having guts and character and being plain better than the opposition. You want respect, give respect man.

One argument for British teams and another for the rest
"); document.write("The Schalk Burger incident cannot possibly be condoned; however, the Lions (and British sport in general, as reflected through their biased media) have a tendency to complain and whinge when things go against them. Irishman Alan Quinlan was cited and banned for 12 weeks for making contact with the eye area of an opponent in the Heineken Cup semi-final prior to the British Lions tour, after he had already been selected for the squad. Did they make a fuss about it in the British media. No. Had he been available i.e. if no longer suspended, they would have quite happily taken him on the tour to SA.

But here's the best bit. To quote from British news media:
Quinlan received a glowing character reference from his Munster and Lions captain Paul O'Connell.

O'Connell did not see the alleged incident but said after the game: 'If it looked bad I am sure there was nothing in it. He is a tough player. It is the one thing he hasn't got in his record book.'

Quinlan was been banned for three weeks after being cited for stamping in a game against New Zealand towards the end of 2008.
