document.write("Well, well, well, what a bitter, anti-testosterone pill it is to swallow in having to admit that our Alpha Male forwards were simply out-muscled yesterday by bigger, stronger Super Alpha males!<br /><br />Did we have problems in the backline – of course – but other than the fact that our wings and fullback had no idea what cover defense, most of our backline woes stemmed from a beaten tight five. The fact that The Lions backline camped offside also contributed ….<br /><br />Backlines can’t be effective with their forwards in reverse and yesterdays mauling illustrated this point painfully. The beating may even have drawn some sympathy from the die-hard SA fan had our pack shown some kind of spirited resistance but quite simply they did not.<br /><br />Our forwards were tired yesterday, the tight 5 were sluggish, slow to the breakdown, slow on defense, weak in the tackle, lethargic in spirit – in essence they were awful! Particularly awful was Victor Matfield who presented zero physicality and compounded his uselessness on the day by insisting on playing the part of a ball fumbling centre – you’re no Morne du Plessis Victor!<br /><br />Finally a small positive – Juan Smith – as ordinary as he has been in a number of past games so spectacular was he yesterday, it was almost as if he were trying to compensate for lack of commitment all around him.<br />Lots of steak and an aggressive psychologist to the rescue PLEASE!!!<br />.
