Two down and two to go. Yes, with two weeks to go two teams, the Sharks and Western Province, have secured their places in the Currie Cup semifinals. That leaves just two vacant spots, which will make for some intriguing games in the final fortnight of league action.
For some teams the play-offs start this week.
The Golden Lions (in fifth places) and the Free State Cheetahs (sixth) simply can't afford another defeat. There simply is no margin for error.
To add spice to an already enticing weekend of competition there is the fourth-placed Blue Bulls against Griquas (third on the standings).
The Cheetahs get the weekend's proceedings underway when they host the ever-improving Leopards in Bloemfontein on Friday.
There are three Saturday games - WP hosting the hapless Boland Cavaliers at Newlands, the Bulls versus Griquas encounter at Loftus Versfeld and the big game of the weekend - the Sharks hosting the Golden Lions in Durban.
