All Blacks flank Jerome Kaino rates his performance in the 22-16 win over Australia at Eden Park on Saturday as one of his best in the black jersey.

Kaino's defence was outstanding and his performance would have boosted his chances of securing the No.6 jersey for the remainder of the Tr-Nations series.

"As usual Richie McCaw and Rodney So'oialo lead from the front and I was only too happy to follow in behind them," told Yahoo Sports.

"I relish the challenge that was put on me this week and I think I came out pretty well. I think my combination with Richie and Rodney is starting to gel."

With Richie McCaw and So'oialo sidelined for the start of the All Blacks' 2009 Test season, the pressure was on Kaino to help with the leadership duties in the forward pack. But with the duo returning last Saturday, Kaino felt he achieved what was asked of him during the match.

"I feel I went pretty well and it was probably was one of best, I'll have to review it on Monday and see how I went," he added.

"There were a few missed tackles here and there but, yeah, I'd have to rate it up there as one of my best."
