The Blue Bulls' Springbok centre Wayne Julies has signed a two-year deal with French Pro D2 club Aix-en-Provence.
They are currently second last in France's second division and Julies' arrival will be a big boost as the team tries to avoid dropping back down to the Federale One league just a year after getting promoted to the Pro D2.
Julies, who has already left for France, has had an illustrious career in South Africa and after making his provincial debut for Boland in 1999 he went on to represent the Cheetahs, Lions and Eagles with distinction.
The 30-year-old has played Super Rugby for the Bulls, Cats and Stormers and it is interesting to note that he first starred for the Bulls in the 1999 tournament.
As a specialist inside centre Julies was first selected for the Springboks at the 1999 World Cup - making his debut a outside centre against Spain at Murrayfield on October 10 - having played for the SA Schools and SA Under-21 team.
There was a lengthy gap to his next Test, against Ireland in 2004, and he played the last of his 11 internationals at the 2007 World Cup - against Tonga at Stade Felix Bollaert, in Lens.
