The Blue Bulls received a timely boost when star wing Bryan Habana resumed training with his teammates on Monday, as they stepped up preparations for the Currie Cup Final - against the Free State Cheetahs in Pretoria on Saturday.
Bulls team doctor Org Strauss said he was "quite optimistic" that the try-scoring machine will be fit to play against the Cheetahs at Loftus Versfeld.
Habana injured his hamstring in the latter part of the second half in the 21-19 semifinal win over Western Province, but he was making "steady progress" and at this stage there is a good possibility that he will recover in time for the Final.
Habana's Springbok teammate Chiliboy Ralepelle, who picked up a stress fracture, is also recovering at a rapid rate and joined up with the Bulls on Monday.
Ralepelle did not take part in Monday morning's training session, but was to be assessed during the afternoon session.
The rest of the squad are all fit and ready to fire and judging by the way they have trained on Monday morning it is evident that the Bulls are more than determined to put the Currie Cup next to the Super 14 trophy.
