England rugby has confirmed that two of their upcoming Six Nations clashes, against Wales and Ireland, will be available in 3D.

The initiative has been orchestrated by England's O2 sponsor and will see 40 Odean and Cineworld cinemas around the UK broadcasting the efforts of Steve Borthwick and his troops on the big screen.

The Rugby Football Unions operations director Paul Vaughan says the sports body is hugely excited by the new development and hopes that rugby fans across the UK take the chance to see the game like they've never seen it before.

"This demonstrates England rugby has a rich history and an even richer future," said Vaughan to the BBC.

"I hope rugby fans will pack cinemas across the country to support the team and mark this milestone."

England welcome Warren Gatland's men to Twickenham on February 6th before, on the 27th, hosting the defending Grand Slam Champions at HQ as well.
