Veteran wing Wylie Human has answered Stormers coach Rassie Erasmus's SOS and will join up with the team for the remainder of their Australasian Super 14 tour.

The 30-year-old wing, who until now has been relegated to the Vodacom Cup team, must resurrect a Stormers backline that has again failed to fire in their 7-11 loss to the Crusaders in a dour match at the weekend.

Erasmus has indicated that Human could start in the next match on tour, against the Waratahs in Sydney on Saturday.

The Stormers, in ninth place on the standings, must also still play the Brumbies, Hurricanes and Highlanders ? as they crisscross the Tasman sea ? before returning home for the last three weeks of league action.

And with just 13 points in the standings, they must climb a huge mountain if they hope to resurrect their play-off hopes.

Despite the star-studded backline, the Stormers again looked rudderless at the weekend.

Erasmus is considering revamping his back division ? axing under-performing flyhalf Willem de Waal, moving Peter Grant into the number ten jersey, reinstating Jean de Villiers and Gcobani Bobo as the midfield combination and naming Human on the wing.

Erasmus reported that there are no major injuries ? even though prop Brian Mujati (neck), flank Duane Vermeulen (calf), lock Adriaan Fondse (calf) and wing Sireli Naqelevuki (upper leg) all nursed injuries of varying degrees after the loss to the Crusaders.

However, the coach is confident they will all be cleared to face the Waratahs.
