Two Springboks, wing JP Pietersen and lock Andries Bekker, are heading home after sustaining injuries in South Africa's impressive 32-25 Tri-Nations win over Australia in Perth at the weekend.

The four-tries-to-three victory ensured that the Boks are just two points away - with two matches remaining - from claiming their third Tri-Nations title.

However, the injury setbacks will hurt.

Pietersen pulled a hamstring in the second half of the game at the Subiaco Oval in Perth, while Bekker injured his shoulder after coming on as a second half replacement.

At this stage no replacements have been called for, for the remainder of the trip - which include an encounter with the Wallabies in Brisbane on Saturday, September 5, and against New Zealand in Hamilton a week later.

Coach Peter de Villiers will rely on the remaining 25 players on tour.

Adrian Jacobs replaced Pietersen on the wing in Perth, but Frans Steyn or Odwa Ndungane can also slot in.

Danie Rossouw, who missed the Perth encounter with a hamstring injury, should be fit to take Bekker's spot on the bench.
