Sharks lock and captain Johann Muller will join the Springbok squad in Australia as a replacement for injured lock Andries Bekker.
Muller, who has been capped 23 times for the Boks, last played in the Green and Gold in the third Test against the British and Irish Lions in Johannesburg in July.
He has recently being playing for the Sharks in the Currie Cup.
"We are looking forward to Johann joining the squad. He is an experienced campaigner and has served the Springboks well in the past," said Bok coach Peter de Villiers.
Bekker returned home on Monday after suffering a Grade 3 injury to the ACL joint in his left shoulder.
No replacement will be called for wing JP Pietersen, who also went home after tearing his hamstring.
