    The dark side of sport

The world of sport is not always celebrated. Controversies often plunge the games into darkness.

    Bulls the worst champs?

The Bulls are the reigning Super 14 champions. But they are in danger of imploding in 2008.
    RUGBY
    Latham rushed back
    Posted Tue, 17 Jul 2007

Australia on Tuesday rushed fullback Chris Latham into the Wallaby team to face the All Blacks in Saturday's Tri-Nations and Bledisloe Cup decider in Auckland.

Latham, who has not played a Test this year and has made only two club rugby appearances since a knee reconstruction last January, was named for the crunch match after Julian Huxley corked a thigh on a night out last weekend.

Coach John Connolly has not decided whether Latham will form part of the run-on side or start from the bench, as he also has the option of switching Adam Ashley-Cooper from wing to fullback to replace Huxley.

Connolly said a final decision on whether 72-Test veteran Latham will start would be made on Wednesday morning.

Connolly has also made changes to his forward pack, with Stephen Moore returning at hooker after recovering from a sternum injury and David Lyons earning a start at number eight.

The Australian coach compared Saturday night's blockbuster to a World Cup final.

"Bledisloe Cup and Tri-Nations deciders are right up there alongside World Cup finals," said Connolly.

"Opportunities to play in Tests like this don't come around too often and Saturday night will be a very special occasion. For a number of our players it will be the biggest match of their career."
