The All Blacks have made three changes to their team to face the Wallabies in the Tri-Nations series deciding Test in Auckland on Saturday.
Following last weekend's patchy 33-6 win over an understrength South Africa, Byron Kelleher takes over from Piri Weepu at scrumhalf, Jerry Collins returns to the blindside flank in place of Reuben Thorne and hooker Anton Oliver replaces Keven Mealamu.
In another notable selection, inside centre Luke McAlister was retained ahead of the experienced Aaron Mauger.
Coach Graham Henry said earlier he would name his strongest combination for the Test, which will decide the Tri-Nations series and the Bledisloe Cup.
The Test is the last for the two sides before September's World Cup and both sides want a strong showing.
"Our performance improved last week and we are after more improvement this week," Henry said when naming the team Tuesday.
"We are close to playing the type of rugby we want to play.
"The Bledisloe Cup and the Tri-Nations championship are hugely important to New Zealand and we would like to claim those honours again."
Winger Sitiveni Sivivatu was the only player in the 30-strong squad not considered due to injury, after he strained his calf while warming up for last weekend's Test.
