A weekend report has alleged that Jeffrey Ntuka has missed the last seven league games for Kaizer Chiefs due to a battle with booze.
The midfielder started 'Amakhosi's first two league encounters, but he has not been available since then, raising questions about his whereabouts.
However, Ntuka and his agent Steven Kapeluschnik have refused to shed light on the matter.
The report in Sunday World claims Ntuka 'recently damaged his luxury car while battling with his demons (alcohol), but the player and his business manager are distancing themselves from the rumours.
"I'm not going to comment," Ntuka said, referring Football365.co.za to Kapeluschnik.
Kapeluschnik admitted there are serious issues Ntuka has to deal with, however, he didn't reveal what the problem is.
"I can't confirm a report I haven't read. I have been out of town and it is my first day back at the office," he said.
"What I will say to you is that the player has personal problems that the club is aware of."
Pressed on whether it is true that it is a boozing problem, the agent refuses to be drawn to discuss the rumours.
"I can't comment on something I haven't read," he insisted.
The report further claims that Ntuka has asked Kaizer Chiefs to help him deal with the problem, but 'Amakhosi's football manager Bobby Motaung couldn't be reached for comment.
However, Motaung is quoted in the weekend report saying there is indeed a problem.
"He came with his agent and confessed that he has a problem," he said.
"We cannot deny that there is an issue here that needs to be tackled. He is a humble young man who was brave enough to come out about what is troubling him. We'll wait for the chairman to come back and see how best we can help him," he concluded.
