The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has revealed in a statement on Friday that general manager Ace Ncobo had agreed to take "voluntary leave" after a report in The Star newspaper linked him to an alleged refereeing dispute.
"The PSL and Mr Ncobo have agreed that an urgent investigation will be undertaken with regards to this matter," the statement read.
"It is also in both parties' interests that Mr Ncobo should not be in the Premier Soccer League offices while the investigation is ongoing.
"Both parties have agreed that the general manager of football, Mr Ace Ncobo, will take voluntary leave while the investigation proceeds."
Ncobo, who has denied the allegations, welcomed the decision.
"I am glad that this matter will be handled immediately by the league, so the truth of this issue can be brought forward as soon as possible," he said.
