New Maritzburg United coach, Ernst Middendorp, has promised a fresh start for the KwaZulu-Natal club.
Middendorp was formerly introduced as head coach on Monday afternoon and he revealed that he had been following the team's progress as he has been in the country since early August.
He promised to give all the players a chance to show the team what they are capable of after replacing Gordon Igesund.
"I would not use the term rotation but I believe one has to give all the players a chance. What's the use of playing the same players over and over again if you have two players in that position? Take the case of Felix (Obada) for instance, he is good but he has been overused. You need to rest him and give other players a chance," said the man who has been previously in charge of Bundesliga club, Arminia Bielefeld.
"Let's take things one game at a time and see where that takes us. We have good players and if we can get them to work together, we can achieve things."
"I didn't see that the players are de-motivated. If you are defeated in a game it does not you lose your quality. It is something that we will have to talk about."
Middendorp said although he had spoken to assistant coach, Salie Adams, he would be making his own assessments of the players.
"I would want to work with the team and then make my own assessments. From what I saw on Sunday afternoon and on Monday morning I must say I am happy with the commitment showed by the players," said the former Kaizer Chiefs coach.
He also said that he would not be in a hurry to make changes in the paying staff. "Let's see what we have first," he answered when asked about anticipated reinforcements.
