Free State Stars are set to lose one of their prized possessions, Jonathan Mensah, but only in two months time.

The Ghanaian world champion at U20 level is set to leave for Italian side Udinese and 'Ea Lla Koto' Brand Manager, Rantsi Mokoena, reveals that the deal is as good as done. However, the 19-year-old's move will be delayed.

"We have been negotiating and the deal is almost done. But he won't leave now as the agreement is that he will leave us in January to start his career at Udinese. But like I said, the deal is as good as done," Mokoena told Football365.co.za.

The Accra-born centre back moved to the Free State from Ghanaian side AshantiGold SC at the beginning of last season.

Mensah started 26 league games last season as the team finished in a respectable fourth position behind eventual winners SuperSport United, Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs.

He will be in the team to face Bloemfontein Celtic in the Free State derby on Sunday.
