Golden Arrows will look to break a four-game winless streak when they host Santos in an Absa Premiership match at the Chatsworth Stadium on Wednesday afternoon (kick-off 3.30pm).

Arrows, after a promising start to the season and the joy of reaching their first Cup final, have stumbled in the league of late. Their most recent outing was a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Free State Stars last week.

And 'Abafana Bes'thende' failed to win any of the three Premiership games prior to that, playing to draws against Pirates (home), MP Black Aces (away) and Platinum Stars (home).

Santos have had an inconsistent start to the 2009/10 league campaign, with two wins, two draws and two losses. The Cape side sit in fifth place on eight points, four positions and one point ahead of Arrows.

'The People's Team' played to a 1-1 draw at home to Jomo Cosmos last week, a disappointing result considering they held the lead in the game and created the better goal scoring opportunities.

"We have been working very hard to create chances to score a goal which was proven in our last match against Cosmos. We have found ways to keep possession and to get more players into goal-scoring opportunities in the opponents? 18 yard area," Santos caretaker coach Boebie Solomons told the club's official website.

He added: "We are looking forward to playing against Golden Arrows which is going to be a positive challenge for us based on them having reached the MTN8 Final.

'We are very positive because we are improving game by game and increasing our chances of winning."

Arrows and Santos have met on 18 occasions in the top flight league since 2000/01. The KwaZulu-Natal team have won six games to the Cape side?s five, with seven draws in the mix.

Further demonstrating that traditionally there has been little to choose between the sides is the fact that both have scored 19 goals in the 18 league games against one another.

Last season, however, 'Abafana Bes'thende' were certainly the dominant side. Arrows won 3-0 in the Cape and then claimed victory in the return game by a score of 3-1.
