BidVest Wits striker Calvin Kadi has won the Absa Premiership Player of the Month award for the month of September, while Gavin Hunt and Roger de Sa will share the Coach of the Month award.

Kadi, who is currently the Absa Premiership?s top goal-scorer, beat Bloemfontein Celtic midfielder Prince Olomu and Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Moeneeb Josephs for the award.

"His bravery and acrobatics has helped to keep his team at the top of the log," commented one judge.

Hunt and De Sa have produced sterling performances for their respective teams.

SuperSport found themselves struggling at the beginning of the season, but under Hunt's tutelage have earned themselves 10 points from just four games.

"Hunt has proven time and time again that he is a quality coach," said one judge.

De Sa, who is synonymous with top class coaching styles, has done extraordinary work with the Clever Boys. Not only are they more confident and fearless on the field, they are also a lot more organised.

In summing up De Sa's performance, one judge said: "Roger has managed to instill a winning mentality and team spirit amongst his players. His superior tactical insight shone forth this month."

Premier Soccer League (PSL) CEO, Kjetil Siem, congratulated the winners and said: "We are two months into the Absa Premiership and I must say that I've been impressed by what I see on the field. Despite the congested nature of the fixtures the teams are really playing good football and I must congratulate all the winners for this month," commented Siem.

Meanwhile, 19-year-old SuperSport United midfielder Thandani Ntshumayelo has been nominated for the Red Hot Young Player award.
