Wits coach Roger de Sa has told Football365.co.za that he is already preparing for the imminent departure of his chief striker Calvin Kadi.
The 22-year-old, who has been Wits' trump card, attracted the interest of big spending Mamelodi Sundowns late last year, but the deal fell through on the last day of the transfer window after the 'Students' turned down the 'Brazilians' offer.
However, his contract with the club ends in June and indications are that he could be moving to Europe.
But his coach De Sa, seemingly accepting that Kadi is lost to Wits, reveals that he hopes on-loan Zimbabwean striker Evans Chikwaikwai, who has lived in Kadi's shadow, will fill his shoes.
"We may lose Calvin to an overseas club or he may be sold to another club locally, but that is football, we need to prepare ourselves for that," De Sa told Football365.co.za.
"This is why we have sent Evans to a team that we have a good relationship with. We are still taking care of him and we know Liga are also taking good care of him."
Under the deal with the Maputo-based club, Wits will continue to pay Chikwaikwai's salary and other perks while the Mozambican club will take care of his accommodation and winning bonuses.
De Sa added: "We sent Evans to Liga so that he can get a bit of game time. He missed out a lot of matches because of injuries and we hope playing in Mozambique will help him get back to his form."
"We look forward to having him back after four months and hopefully by then he would have played 15 to 20 matches."
